Marching Band Meeting Information 5/6/18

Dear Woodbury HS Band Student for 2018-19 and Family,

The window to join the Woodbury Marching Royals family is open and you are invited to join the 2018 edition of the Marching Royals at our registration meeting on Sunday, May 6th, 2018 at 7 PM in the Woodbury High School Auditorium. You must attend a meeting to join the Marching Royals, so this meeting is very important to getting the season started right.  If you CANNOT attend the meeting on May 6th, you must attend the MAKE-UP meeting which will be held in the WOODBURY MIDDLE SCHOOL ORCHESTRA ROOM on Thursday, May 10th immediately following the Woodbury Middle Band Concert (this will be approximately 8:15 PM).  Both meetings will be about an hour in length.  Students AND at least one parent should attend.

I have posted a packet of documents above that you will want to bring to the meeting in either an ELECTRONIC format (keep the PDF on your phone or a tablet) OR a physical format by printing the packet at home.  The first two pages can be filled out BEFORE the meeting to maximize your time.  These documents need to be submitted to register for marching band.  Please note that you will need to write TWO SEPARATE CHECKS.  One check, payable to “WRBBI”, will be for shoes, track jackets, gloves, guard uniforms, guard shoes, shirts, and Royals on the Rise Concert Band Kick-Start.  The other check, payable to “ISD833”, is for ValleyFair participation on June 14^th. The last six pages of the packet pertain to our Tour in October 2018 to Los Angeles and San Diego, CA.  These documents show a TENTATIVE itinerary and how to register for ONLINE PAYMENTS and tour tracking for this trip.  Please feel free to sign-up for the tour BEFORE the meeting.  If you are interested in chaperoning this trip, please note that you will need to complete a background check with ISD 833. Please see Beth Burch in the WHS Principal’s Office to begin this process. Chaperones will ALSO register on the “MyGateway” portal for the CA trip. 

The documents in the middle of the packet feature our handbook that outlines attendance policies and behavior/academic expectations for the organization.  A full calendar for the marching season is also provided.  Please place these dates on your calendar NOW and commit to them.  Attendance is the primary determinant of our success.  Thank you, and I hope to see a lot of you on Sunday to begin our journey to excellence in 2018!
