TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2

5:15-5:30 Gather materials, hydrate, and move to the PRACTICE FIELD

5:30-5:40 Stretch with Mrs. Moreno

5:40-5:50 Full run of the show ON FIELD

5:50-6:20 Work on Drum Feature of “You’re Welcome” to add visuals in sets 9 and 10.  We will start in set 7 and work through the end of the drum feature in set 10.

6:20-6:25 Water Break

6:25-6:55 Teach visuals for set 10 of “This is Me”.  Let’s make the ending REALLY visually and sonically exciting!

6:55-7:15 Full run on the field WITH visuals…discuss performance afterwards

7:15-7:25 Transition to the band room

7:25-7:40 Watch HOMECOMING performance video…set goals for Senior Night performance

7:40-8:10 Rehearse “Africa”  and various other pep band tunes. Color Guard can move to the Activity Center for work and cleaning with Mrs. Moreno.

8:10-8:20 Final Announcements, dismissal from the BAND ROOM

ANNOUNCEMENTS

•California Pre-Trip meeting is a week from today at 5:30 PM (Tuesday, October 9) in the auditorium.  All students need to bring the following forms, filled out and SIGNED, to the meeting (all are attached to this email):

1)FIELD TRIP PARENTAL AUTHORIZATION- TYPE 2 FIELD TRIP

2)EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION (please disclose ALL prescription medication..this is crucial for student safety)

3)MEDICAL TREATMENT/DISCIPLINARY RELEASE

4)UCLA WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, and INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

5)UCLA CONSENT FOR IMAGE AND WORK PRODUCED BY A STUDENT OR GUEST PERFORMER

•Senior night information will be coming to all WMR seniors this week.  Jennifer Murray is graciously sending out this information.  Parents of seniors, please respond in a timely manner and plan on being at Royal Booster Stadium around 6 PM on Friday, October 12th for the ceremony!

•District 833 Marching Band Festival is coming up!  October 13, 2018 @ East Ridge High School.  The show is at 2 PM.  Students will need to be at ERHS at 11:50 PM ready for a NOON district rehearsal. This is a change from previous years. This year, we will perform at this event with the Minnesota Vikings SKOL line!  Please feel free to invite neighbors, friends, family, and community members.  This is always such a great event that we want the whole community to enjoy!

•We are currently selling Metro Dining Club Cards and Poinsettias through Gerten's.  Students receive $10 towards a future band trip for each $25 sale of Metro Dining Club Cards.  They receive 40% of all sales on poinsettias and 10% of all gift card sales through Gerten's.  Information was emailed about these fundraisers yesterday.  All checks are made payable to "WHS". Poinsettia Orders are due Monday, October 15 by 3:30 PM.
